Making Dalgona Coffee

Now that you know what you will need, it is time to make the coffee! The easiest way is to prepare a hot cup of water. Boiling water in a kettle or heating it in a microwave is your choice, but either works well.

The next step is to add the instant coffee mix to your hot water. it is best to do this first part in a bowl rather than a mug so that you can whip the ingredients together.

Then add your sugar, and whip it together for about 90 to 180 seconds, or until you create stiff peaks! After everything is all whipped up, pour your desired amount of milk (warm or cold) into a tall glass or mug and add the whipped coffee on top. Finish with some cinnamon, caramel, or even chocolate if you like your coffee on the sweeter side!

Do You Prefer Iced Coffee?

If you are like me, you might prefer your coffee to be cold or iced. Dalgona coffee is so versatile that you can make it to be hot or cold!

Follow the instructions above, but when you add the milk to the glass make sure it is cold. Then, add some ice cubes to the milk. If you are a true coffee connoisseur, you can take it a step further and make coffee ice cubes!

Try freezing any leftover coffee or make a pot just to have coffee ice cubes on hand. You can keep your coffee cold without diluting that taste with water. This means you can have your coffee iced any time of the year without worrying about it getting watered down.

Also, it will create a stronger and bolder flavor that can be paired with the sweetness of your whipped topping. It is a perfect combination for an afternoon pick me up or an after-dinner drink!

Making Dalgona Coffee Without Instant Coffee

If you don’t have instant coffee or prefer to grind your favorite coffee beans, you can use whatever beans you like! Coffee grounds are one of the easiest things to turn into coffee because the paper filter coffee machines (the ones that drip hot water over ground-up coffee) give coffee grounds a lot of flavors.

The first thing you need to do is grind your beans. To do this, take out your blender and blend your beans until they’re finely ground. You may want to put them in a bag before blending them; otherwise, your ingredients might fly all over your kitchen!

Once you have coffee grounds, put them in a coffee mug. Fill it up halfway or so with hot water. Next, get out your electric whisk. Whisk the coffee and water together until the coffee is dissolved. If you don’t have an electric whisk, you can simply mix it by hand with a spoon – just be careful not to spill!

Now that your coffee is blended well, set aside some coffee for later if needed (but not too much!), pour in the rest of your ingredients, and mix it all! The next step is to use the electric whisk again to blend all of your coffee/ingredient mixes until it’s foamy. If you don’t have an electric whisk, you can use a spoon or a blender to do this part instead.

Once the coffee is blended well and has a frothy top, it’s ready to be consumed! Enjoy!

Alternate Methods Using Coffee Beans

If you want to use your favorite coffee bean or want to experiment with different flavors, try picking out your beans. You can grind them at home or ask your local coffee shop to grind them fine or coarse for you! Because Dalgona is such a simple recipe, it can be adjusted to your flavor profile. Below are the ingredients and techniques used to create your perfect Dalgona coffee!

Fluffy Coffee

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups of coffee beans
  • 1 cup of heavy cream, whipped and held cold

Recipe:

Put the coffee beans of your liking in a food processor. Grind them up but stop before they become powder! You do not want to make coffee powder and you don’t want coffee dust. Coffee dust will get stuck in the coffee filters and this will make coffee brewing harder.

If you do not have a coffee grinder, you can use coffee beans from the store. However, take note that coffee beans are much more potent when it comes to caffeine than coffee powder is because all of the coffee components are still intact.

You must proceed with caution if you do not have a coffee grinder if you’re going to use coffee beans in their whole form. Scoop the coffee grounds into the coffee filter and put it on top of your coffee maker.

Slowly add two cups of boiling water to these coffee grounds and stir them together. Boil the water in a kettle or a pot over an open flame. Do not use coffee makers that have coffee pre-made in them. Using coffee machines to make coffee will ruin the taste of coffee.

Spread the coffee grounds evenly over the coffee filter and add more boiling water to it, one cup at a time. Let this mixture steep for five minutes! This allows all of the coffee components in the ground coffee beans to mix and become coffee.

You can finish making the Dalgona coffee while the coffee filter is brewing by preparing the ingredients needed for the whipped topping of Dalgona coffee. Take one cup of heavy cream and put it in a bowl with sugar and vanilla extract. Whip them together until the cream forms stiff peaks, just like when you whip up egg whites into meringue.

Once the coffee has finished brewing, pour it into your mug of choice and top with the whipped topping. Now you have Dalgona coffee! Enjoy your homemade drink with coffee-lovers or Dalgona coffee addicts over some good conversation.
